Transportation

 Transportation

Transportation has served as a major key figure in boosting the economy and progression of the territory to a gigantic extension. It has facilitated the public and businesses to carry out their daily endeavors hassle free. Trucks, buses, cars and two-wheelers keep the roads busy as their noises illustrates there is indeed something going on. If we dive into the history of the transportation system in India, It goes way back to the 20th century when the automobiles emerged for specific people and limited ventures in regards with them were pulled off. The modern era has amplified the role of transportation to a vast extent as almost everyone is familiar with their essence. Gone are the days when bullock carts served as the only bearer for the many who wished to translocate to a different part of a different destination. Today, the society has advanced to the point where electric modes are on the verge of taking over. Transportation is necessary for facilitating businesses, territories and public as a whole. But, the rise of automobiles has caused a sincere problem. Traffic and it’s extraneous upsurge has dwindled the administration and conflicted many things that makes us admit that it is a curse sometimes. The roads of India haven’t quite made a reputation. They are an example that reminds us of the corrupt administration of India. The networking plans that were layed by the empires that once ruled India have never seen much progression and it’s like the government never considered any possibilities for reinventing the same. With the ever-rising population of India and the high population density per region, the roads are not great enough to accommodate the smooth flow of population alone and when we take transportation into account, It becomes a huge issue that has been overlooked for decades. No matter what the government promises or unveils, the roads tell everything about them. If we ever dwell into the construction methodology and the networking plans of the United States, India has procured nothing but shame. It is not the matter of money either. It is the government’s oversight at things. The roads of India are debilitated and a single shot of heavy rain is capable of damaging a freshly constructed road made of cheap quality materials as well as corrupted ethics of governance in regards with the same. There are many ways that could have facilitated ease in regards with transportation but are avoided because of their bumpy nature. Aside from the networking plans and construction of roads, the huge disappointment in regards with transportation comes from upsurge of traffic. The cause of traffic is the density of vehicles at a certain place and at a certain time congregating inadvertently to immobilize the movement as a result of conflict between vehicles passing different directions and no room for travel with tolerance. As of 2021, a data suggests that there are 3.38 million private vehicles registered in Delhi. This clearly illustrates the huge number of vehicles owned by individuals and families that never give a dime in regards with the traffic problem that upsurges because of their individual attempt to utilize one at a certain time. The number of vehicles will surge as there are a lot of companies offering them at a fair price enticing a lot to acquire one and become a part of this ever-growing chain. They will become contributors to more traffic as a result even though they have no clue in regards with that. A traffic is a conglomerated effect and results due to the extraneous upsurge of a lot of vehicles passing by a certain place at the same time.

Traffic also contributes to pollution and heat. The quality of air in delhi clearly suggests the consequence that traffic generates persistently. The government has always expressed an oversight in regards with such situation with no possible situation.

“We’re working on that”

                                The Government of India

That’s all they can say and later they will wait for the heat to descend as everyone will disperse and move on to another things. The government has never been meticulously assessed which needs to be done and this fear will allow things to escalate. The aversion of such issues have never been addressed as there are things that could be done to change just that. The traffic regulations and the rules that could have been implemented to control traffic and vehicle population have never been quite expressed to a vast extent. Encouraging short stint measures like cycling, walking and frequent use of public transportation could have healed this situation. For a mile, an unnecessary drive contributes to the traffic too which needs to be discouraged. The roads must be a one time affair in regards with the construction.

Transportation

With the rise of economy and persistent development making it’s mark, transportation has played a significant role in boosting country’s progression. Transportation is basically a phenomenon that allows the translocation of a person or an asset to a certain place at a certain period of time. The wheels allow you to be at your preferred place without draining your energy to a vast extent. It could be for personal purpose or a variety of reasons that involves you to indulge in business and emergent activities. Transportation paves way for various businesses to easily carry their requirements in less time. But, with everyone gaining a huge chunk with the progressing regime, the desire for owning a personal vehicle has caused a cloaked problem that no one quite acknowledges. At the time of traffic conditions, everyone is pissed off but they don’t realize it’s not the government but the huge population driving through at the same period of time that causes the traffic problem in the first place.

The 20th century exhibited a gradual rise in that department. Cars and two-wheelers were just on the clutches of few and the traffic problem was not much of an obstacle. The sudden upsurge of cars and two-wheelers owned by almost everyone in the country has amplified the muddle even more.

Countries like Denmark have maintained a great population density as per the area they have. And there are other countries too that have maintained their population density quite well but India has always overlooked this situation. The population density is the number of people covering a square miles of an area. The population density of India projects a shame and is the reason for many factors that will never let India develop.

To awaken a sense of understanding in people from various backgrounds, different thought trajectories and a selfish appetite is like rolling a huge rock over a mountain. Adding a layer to it, personally owned automobiles have doubled the issue. It is a right of freedom, you can travel anytime, anyplace and anywhere you want and driven by purpose it’s commendable but if everyone does that at the same time irrespective of the reasons for travel, the way is going to be jampacked and there won’t be room for anyone to catch up to the destination. They’ll immobilize because the way is blocked resulting from the overflow of those huge vehicles not only creating traffic but pollution too.

The Root of the Muddle

Well, first I would like to illustrate here that I encourage public transport and vehicles driven by business endeavors carrying goods and services. They are really working. But, if we count the vehicles that follow the same protocol, they don’t cause much issues in regards with traffic. I’ve seen it. They are never the major cause of the problem. So, we can’t blame them much.

It is indeed possible that the entire population can develop a sense of understanding in regards with the welfare of country day in and day out. They have to think about the daily governance of them. Implosion and Explosion of selfish outbursts causes problems for the entire country daily. Traffic is one of the progeny of such traits that has derailed the progression and image of the country.

If everyone tries to use public transportation daily for their own ends, the number of private vehicles jamming the road could be obliterated.

“There were many cars on the road with only the driver. A car is meant to accompany at least four or three but a single person driving a car with only a laptop bag adds a layer of unnecessary traffic. Yes, it is their right and it is their wish but the traffic issue says otherwise. If there was no traffic problem, this was never supposed to be an exhibited case. But, we have to take magnified elements into account to implement a solution to the problem.

A single person driving a car, less affinity to walk and use cycle, using a huge vehicle for short distances even though it was possible that the man could’ve walked and the increase in number of vehicles in a single family illustrates some of the reasons that causes unnecessary traffic.

Although, the necessary transportation may contribute to traffic too but it is still not much fair to blame it to a vast extent. It is the unnecessary use of vehicles and upsurge of private vehicles that has contributed to traffic.

Drive a car only when it is necessary

Walk more and descend your reliance over vehicle application

Encourage cycles as your transportation utility

Swap private vehicles with public transportation

The rise of technology first creates a problem and then tries to device ways for it’s shortcomings disrupting nature. The application of technology must be inspected. If you behave like a glutton in that case, you’re harming nature and disrupting the natural order. Limited application of technology and inspection of everything is necessary.

3.38 million private vehicles were registered in delhi, the national capital of India as of 2021 data. Just try to fathom the upsurge. What if even the half of them are on their way to a certain destination at the same time?

It is cataclysm, indeed. The addition of general traffic heightens the issue even more.

Drive less, walk more.

Cycle more, breathe more.

Transportation

Vehicles, what a marvelous invention they happen to be. Since the inception of transportation through vehicles, we’ve been facilitated and the ease of translocation to another part of the territory within a short duration of time has assisted us in ways we cannot even comprehend to express the gratitude in return for the same. But, everything has a balance.

The surge of transportation and the rise of vehicles has granted us enough light to fathom that the ascension of utilization in regards with the same has deteriorated the quality of surroundings and elevated a huge rush resulting in extraneous operation of automotives.

“Yesterday, I was on my cab. The traffic conditions in my route were worse. There was no governance to the untamed traffic disposal and many things were thwarted as a result. Whether, there was an emergent situation and needed to be dealt with sooner rather than later, the traffic never gave a dime in regards with such situations.”

Today, the economy has boosted and everyone is embracing a lifestyle that is governed by technology. The surge of technology and it’s acceptance to every extension of operation has blinded humans to look for themselves with it. Public transport is what I really encourage. Countries like Denmark have made everything right as they don’t face overloading of extraneous vehicle surge at a less time which results in traffic. But, India has granted us a lousy, sloppy and lazy picture with the same. The traffic conditions in India are worse accompanied by the adulterated promises of the government and the negligence of many territories that require work to be done sooner rather than later.

Everyone is Selfish

What causes traffic?

Everyone in India says It’s a great country. But, I’ll tell you, It is not at all. No one thinks about India at all. It’s the thought consolidation of every individual directly to a single cause that causes many actions that later paints the country as a whole. Everyone wants to own a car. A family confides in at least three to four members and just imagine what each one of them own at least a certain type of automobile. They don’t give a damn about India, they just want the convenience of owning such thing and getting on with it for their luxurious endeavors. The vehicle density increments as a result of too many private vehicles congregating their motion on road. Taxis, public transportation (which is fair to be honest in regards with their operation), private vehicles, etc. consolidate out of nowhere for their own ends creating a huge vehicle density and releasing detrimental emissions and extraneous heat on their way.

Corruption

There are many parts of a specific territory which have received no attention. The roads are made from resources that have no strength to withstand high loads and it is because the original tax we pay to the government is their pocket money. The transportation budget is distributed to the corrupted governments and only a small percentage of it is used to concoct a developing interface. The roads cannot withstand the loads and weather conditions for even a year which should have been forever. It is because the materials that are used to create roads and the overall creation of roads is a replica of the original plan that should be implemented. Cheap materials are used and cheap techniques are implied to concoct roads. For a 1000 Cr rupees of budget, only 100 Cr is utilized just to unveil that the government is working. The rest of the 900 Cr is for the benefits of the government officials and politicians.

This is how the corrupt government who has never worked on roads became one of the elements that caused this problem in the first place.

The networking plan

A city architecture must have a developed interface for ease of travel and there must be tolerance for the worse conditions. It takes into account the population, the rise of population, the number of vehicles (private), the number of taxis, etc. It can occur at any time that anyone can use their transportation source to help them get to another location. And if there are a lot that imply the same thought at the same time and there are others on the random queue, the overflow of vehicles of different sizes and varieties will flood the road with no room for peace.

Selfishness of every individual

Like I said, almost everyone owns an automobile. I encourage taxis and public transports as they cost less and if everyone has an affinity for them, the traffic would definitely be discouraged. If a car is packed, it’s good but if there is only the driver that drives and there are a lot of people doing just that, it creates unnecessary traffic. A family has 5 members and rather than everyone opting for a single automobile, they choose to go independently with their personal vehicle. Imagine it to occur with a lot of families. This is unnecessary traffic. It requires understanding for a single cause to eliminate such problems.

Construction of robust roads, imposing development on those areas that have never been exposed, a law that descends the use of private vehicles per family and an understanding over the extra reliance on vehicles for short distance ventures can help overcome the traffic situation.

Traffic is caused as a result of upsurge of vehicle density at a certain place and at a certain time. When there is no room for much motion and no one carries a sensible approach to things, traffic is amplified. It releases noise, unhealthy emissions and heat which deteriorates the quality of environment too. I blame the roads and the networking plan of the city less in comparison to the rise of vehicles.
